| “We the Human” appeals businessmen not to evade GST | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 7: "We The Human - Forum for Nature and Mankind" has emphasized upon all members of the business community to continue playing a constructive role in growth and development of the state by paying GST.
Sahib Aggarwal the leading Advocate and senior member of the trust said that GST is an indirect tax which has subdued multiple taxes.
So, it becomes a challenge for the authorities to discover it's evasion where an organization is not registered, not issuing bills to its customers or trying to suppress the sales which is also punishable under section 132(1)a of CGST Act 2017 however, the Supreme court is yet to decide on the point whether a person can be arrested or not if found evading GST.
Evading GST can lead to loss in tax collection, thus increasing the budget deficit and ultimately slowing down pace of overall growth & development of the state, he said. |
