Modi Mantra | | | Shiv Kumar Padha Basohli
On the evening of 25 May 2019, when Sh. Narendra Modi Prime Minister of India was delivering a visionary address before the MPs of NDA at the central Hall of Parliament, I was reminded of the situation which I had earlier watched in the B R Chopra Hindi serial based upon the epic Mahabharat, where Sh. Krishan was shown standing and consoling Arjun in the middle of the war field of Kurukshetar. Lord Krishna emphasized and stressed upon Arjuna to shun the evils like Kam, Krodh Lobh, Moh, Ahankar, Arrogance, pride, anger, conceit, Harshness because the qualities belong to those of demonic nature. He prevailed upon Arjuna to take up the arms and fight for the establishment of Dharma and wage a war agaist the evil forces even if it happen to be a fight agaist your kins. Krishna stressed upon everyone to fight for justice. The whole discourse which transpired between Arjun and Krishna is contained in the 18 chapters of the sacred book Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta where each verse of it is serving a beacon of light across the world. It is, perhaps, for the first time in the history of India when a leader of parliamentary board going to form government in the country, have ever elaborated the vision and intention of his government in detail for its strict adherence by the newly elected Member Parliament so that they can discharge their duties as per the desired level of the people and the constitution. In India becoming an MLA or an MP is not less than a lottery which makes them omnipotent, invincible and inaccessible. They consider that becoming MP or an MLA grants them license to raise their assets, give freedom to make encroachments, and indulge in all those practices which help them make multimillionaire lock stock and barrel overnight. As it appears the historical and visionary address of Sh. Narender Modi will definitely leave an impact on the MPs and will certainly help discourage and clip the wings of the shrewd and clever elected MPs if there are any in the NDA. Modi turned into a disciplinarian while Emphasizing upon the MPs for their strict adhesion to the dos and don'ts of NDA governance in future. It shows PM Modi's concern and commitment for providing flawless, honest and transparent governance in the country which will go a long way in ensuring SAB KA SAATH SAB KA VIKAS AUR SAB KA VISHWAS and a promise for Samridhi, Suraksha and Samman. PM Modi, in his speech, reminded the NDA MPs present in the Central Hall, to be cautious in giving out statements to the media which would cause problem for the government, warned the newly- elected MPs against the gang of power brokers, shun arrogance and VIP culture, cautioned the MPs against news reports about cabinet formation, MPs to be careful of gangs floating around who offer help to the new MPs, make coalition culture an ideal culture, pro incumbency should be encouraged in place of anti incumbency, and taking the benefit of the governance to the last man in the queue. PM Modi gave out a new acronym for governance calling it NARA (which in Hindi means a slogan) which, according to Modi stands for National Ambition, regional aspirations. Modi warned the newly elected MPs to refrain from saying controversial things as it creates problems for the government and overshadows the good work done. Talking to the TV is an addiction. Media persons will slowly allure you to say things but you should be careful before opening your mouth The weakness of remaining in the media is visible more in the MLAs and MPs as compared to the common man where they are tempted to speak out anything and everything which one can make neither head nor tail. The impact of such statements puts the whole government in jeopardy. As such they must keep their lips tight unless authorized by the government to do so. They should think twice before giving out any statement. There are groups of the people who are always in search of the persons having their say in the government circles they lay their trap to catch them, who prove dangerous for them in future with the result their whole political career comes under scanner. It is a common experience in India where majority of our MLAs and MPs isolate themselves from the common man and prefer the company of the sycophants, political brokers, commission agents, contractors and the owners of the big houses. They often keep the worker and the voters at arm length and consider them as untouchables. It is the result of mental bankrupsy of most of our hon'ble MPs who consider themselves above law of the land. Not to talk of the MPs their family members feel themselves superior to their counterparts and expect special treatment in the public places. For the sake of self aggrandizement family members of the MPs and those of MLAs often indulge in such activities where they commit heinous crimes with impunity knowing that no complaint or FIR will be registered against them due to their political clout. After the elections and before the formation of the governments there are many speculation about the inclusion or exclusion of one or the other MP in the council of minister which flare up the sentiments of many parliamentarians. As such PM Modi warned the MPs not to believe on the telephone calls guarantying a berth in the government. It must become the priority of NDA government to plan in such a way which assure its benefit to the last man in the queue. This election was pro incumbency. It was based upon the trust between people and the government. The pro incumbency wave is tied with the thread of trust. According to PM Modi this is an election of positive vote to bring back government in order to take the country forward with this government. The road map, for successful functioning of the government, presented by PM Modi will definitely help change the attitude, behaviour and outlook of the MPs about the voters. But I am afraid that majority of our parliamentarians will be least affected because they have developed thick skin during 70 years of independence. |
