Early Times Report Jammu, July 24: Contrary to claims of the government that each corner of city has been developed, the Rahim Nagar residents' a colony situated just a few meters away from Narwal by pass road fear of washing away by the failed drain in the area. The residents informed Early Times that after failure of administration to provide basic facilities like drainage they are doing it on their own. Local Rashid Mirza, Asif, Javed, Lal Mian, Waqar Ahmed, Rafique, Noor Ahmed, Izrar Maqsood Khan, Mohammad Asif and Saif-u-din and other informed that a portion of road remains waterlogged all the time due to blockage of the adjoining drain. "As you enter the locality from main road in Narwal you will find tiles have been laid over a stretch, but after a few meters, the development gets exposed, as the damaged and waterlogged road greets you", they said, adding that major portion of a pacca nuallah comes from Kiryani Talab has been washed away due to use of sub standard material. Now the water logging in the nullah has become a threat for adjoining houses, if timely action is not taken most of houses along the nullah may collapse or cave-in any time", they said. They said that the local corporator is aware about our suffering but unfortunately no remedial steps have been taken yet to overcome the threat looming our them. Present situation in our area also brings disrespect for the Swach Bhagat Mission initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. |
