elections end' Early Times Report
Jammu, July 24: Editor Early Times, Munish Gupta, on Wednesday said that the politicians should stop playing politics over development issues and muster courage to acknowledge their failures. Carrying forward his mass contact programme in different areas, Munish said, "It's really sad that people in every area face one or other problem. The lack of civic amenities has is a major issue. Drains are choked, nallahs are blocked, roads are dilapidated and other issues are the main problems faced by the people of Jammu even after 70-years of independence." "I know during the past seven decades you have seen many politicians coming to you for votes and promising moon and stars. I have also come to my people to seek support but I assure you that I am not like others, who will disappear after election season ends. Give me a chance and vote for me I assure you that I will try my best to address all the issues which confront you," said, Munish, who would be contesting the forthcoming Assembly elections as an Independent candidate from Gandhi Nagar constituency. He said, "I know that people have lost faith in politicians and they don't believe in promises any more but things are changing fast. Politicians cannot take people for a ride anymore. Ours is a democratic country and the people whom we vote for are accountable to us. If they fail to deliver we are within our rights to reject them." |
