Students wash, clean teacher's car in Bathera Kalakote | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 24: A video that has gone viral shows students cleaning and washing the car of teacher, in Bathera area of Kalakote. The matter of forced menial works by students for teachers have been coming to fore from time to time. "A teacher posted at Government High School Bathera, in Kalakote, district Rajouri today was ridiculed when three students were washing his car", they said, adding that in the said teacher has been found involved in such acts in the past as well. "In most of the Government schools in remote areas the school children do odd jobs including cleaning toilets and collection of firewood for preparation of midday meals", they said. The locals said the school has become infamous for forcing children to do menial jobs. "The school staff even takes students for domestic work at their residences and the main reason behind this mess is that the education department has been silent on such complaints," said a delegation of locals. "When a cook is there to prepare midday meals why are our kids made to get firewood," the locals asked.. |
