JAMMU, July 24: Office of the Deputy Labour Commissioner Jammu today organized an awareness camp on labour laws for the functionaries of government department, representatives of trade unions and PSUs of Jammu province.
In his welcome address Deputy Labour Commissioner Jammu, Shahnaz Akhter stressed upon the need for generating mass awareness regarding Labour Welfare legislations and other welfare schemes presently being implemented and monitored by the Labour Department.
The Minimum Wages Act, Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulations) Act, Contract Labour Act, Bonded Labour Act, etc, were deliberated upon in detail. Special emphasis was laid on the recently launched scheme of Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Man Dhan Yojna, its implementation and coverage so far. |
