Jammu, July 27: Additional deployment of 10,000 troops in Kashmir after visit of National Security Advisory (NSA) Ajit Doval has fulled rumours that Centre is going to take some 'big steps' in J&K after Amarnath Yatra. Within hours after NSA reviewed the law and order situation in the state, decision was taken to airlift 100 companies central forces from various parts of country. Credible sources said that after the completion of the Amarnath yatra, Centre is going to take some important decisions on J&K. Although top leaders of the state BJP are tightlipped, they are unofficially revealing that the 'big steps' to be taken by the Centre in the coming days. Sources said before the announcement of the Assembly elections, the BJP high command was mulling taking decisions on Article 35A as the party had promised in the Lok Sabha elections that it would abolish the Article. Credible ources said the local BJP leadership had been informed that there was no possibility of immediate Assembly elections after the conclusion of the Amarnath yatra. "There is every possibility that the Centre will clear its stand on Article 35A in the Supreme Court before the Assembly elections in J&K," sources said. In a massive security build-up to strengthen anti-terrorist operations, the centre is moving 10,000 troops of the paramilitary forces to J&K. The decision to send the troops came after Ajit Doval returned from a two-day visit to Kashmir valley. Sources said he met senior officers and reviewed the law and order situation in the state that's still under the President's rule. An order issued by the Home Ministry on Friday evening says the additional forces are being deployed to strengthen "counter insurgent grid" as well as maintaining law and order in Kashmir. |
