ACB books JE | | | Early Times Report Jammu, October 10: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) registered a case against a Junior Engineer Irrigation and Flood (I&FC) Control Department in Poonch. According to sources the ACB registered a formal case against Mohd Farooq, then JE resident of Surankote District Poonch and other officers and officials of I&FC Poonch vide FIR No. 03/2019 u/s 5(1)(c), 5 (1) (d) read with section 5(2) J&K P.C Act Svt. 2006 & Section 120-B RPC at P/S ACB Rajouri on 09.10.2019. The instant case was registered on the outcome of verification conducted by ACB Rajouri on the basis of complaint lodged by the inhabitants of village Seri Khawaja Poonch to look into the allegations that officers/officials of Irrigation and Flood Control Department Poonch have misappropriated the amount of Rs 33.67 lakh allotted for the construction of work of irrigation Khul in the year 2009-10 at Seri Khawaja, Poonch. It surfaced during verification that Mohd Farooq, then JE and other officers/officials of irrigation and Flood Control Department Poonch by abuse of their official position and in connivance with each other, just for their pecuniary gains have misappropriated 2767 bags of cement which were allotted for the execution of works at Seri Khawaja Khul in the year 2009-10, the cost of which has been assessed as Rs 10,09,955/- (2767 bags @ 365/- per bag), thereby causing a huge loss to the state exchequer. On the prima facie establishment of the allegations, a formal case has been registered against the above named persons and investigation taken up. |
