Senior faculties in SKUAST holding administrative posts, take no lecture | Directives of Deans' Committee Report overlooked | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 10: Despite strict directives stipulated in Deans' Committee Report which makes mandatory for senior faculties holding administrate posts in various agricultural universities and colleges to take certain number of lecture but it has been found that the directions were thrown to the wind as no lecture has been taken by these faculties. Sources told Early Times that in order to ensure good quality in agricultural education, it was made mandatory for all faculties particularly holding administrative posts in the various agricultural colleges and universities to take certain number of lecture in their tenure but these directives were taken lightly and studies of students were affected. "As per committee report, the University was required to adhere to minimum norms and standards prescribed by the Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) for agricultural colleges and institutes," said sources. They further said that the Fourth Deans' Committee Report of Indian Council for Agricultural Research stipulated that Dean, Associate Dean should take a minimum of 32 lectures and Directors 16 lectures in an academic year but it was found that no lectures had been delivered in academic sessions 2013-14 to 2015-16 by the Directors in some faculties. They further said that Dean had also not delivered any lecture in Agricultural Engineering faculty. |
