Delegation of farmers meets DC Jammu | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 10: A delegation of farmers from Bishnah constituency meets DC Jammu and submits a memorandum on damage of of kharif crops due to erratic rainfall. Last week Jammu has been witnessed the highly skewed and erratic rainfall. Rainfall on 03 of Oct 2019 caused a huge damage to kharif crops, including worldwide known basmati rice of Bishnah area. Such extreme natural events are creating havoc over the production and cost of production of crops. Bishnah constituency already face a socio- economic and political erosion as most of the areas falls under border belt and faces border vulnerabilities. Agriculture is the primary sector and source of the income of same area, where as other part of the Jammu district have a tourism potential except Bishnah. It is a totally a agrarian sector and therefore delegation requested administration to take care of agrarian sector of region Bishnah constituency. Delegation re DC to pay attention towards farmers and grant a relief for survey damaged crops due to inclement weather. DC shab assured to conduct a survey for relief of damage crops. Bharat Bhushan, Kuldeep Singh, Desh Raj and Keemti lal were the part of the farmers delegation led by Pankaj Khajuria. |
