Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 28: Book titled "Dharamkshetra Yudhkshetra Kurukshetra" penned by prolific writer and poet of Dogri, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and English and an eminent educationist of the State, K. K. Shakir was released by Nami Dogri Sanstha (Regd.) at K. L. Sehgal Hall, Jammu. The book is based upon historical essays on various historical places in and around Kurukshetra. This is the 15th book of Shakir, who has earlier penned three books in Punjabi, two in Urdu, two in Dogri, two in English and Six books in Hindi. Five of his books are on historical places of Jammu. The current book he wrote at Kurukshetra in 2003, when his class fellow a renowned social worker and veteran politician of the State, Babu Parmanand Ji was Governor of Haryana. Kavinder Gupta, Former Deputy Chief Minister of the State was Chief Guest on the occasion whereas the function was presided over by Advocate Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor of JMC. Veteran Journalist Sohail Kazmi was Guest of Honour, Rohit Choudhary was Special Guest and Dr. Arvinder Singh Aman, Additional Secretary of the Academy of Art, Culture and Languages was special invitee. Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila, President, NDS shared the dias. The proceedings of the function were compered by Yash Pal Yash, General Secretary of NDS. Rohit Choudhary said that besides historical information the book contains analysis and observations of the author which is significant. Dr. Arvinder Singh described in detail the qualities of the writer and said that he involves his heart and soul in his literary works. Advocate Harish Kaila congratulated Veteran writer for his mulilinguistic works and writings on multiple facets of literature. |
