Former IAS official likely to join his 'mentors' | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 28: Amid speculations of political developments taking place in Jammu and Kashmir in the coming times, a former IAS official who had floated his own political party is likely to disband the party only to join his "mentors", who include a former banker and his close aid, a business man turned politician. Sources said the businessman turned politician had been providing "assistance" for the political activities undertaken by the bureaucrat turned politician. Sources said while the businessman turned politician was taking care of the "assistance", his aide a former banker who is also a politician, was looking after the "intellectual needs" of the former IAS officer to run his political party. "He (banker turned politician) was giving counseling classes to him (former IAS) on how to run politics but given the change in political landscape of Kashmir, the three have almost decided to work together," said a source privy to the developments. While the former IAS has been detained after the abrogation of the Article 370 and 35A on August 5, the other two have been moving around freely and lobbying with the politicians. Very recently, one of the two politicians had called on the European Union delegation in the national capital. Both have been shuttling between Srinagar and New Delhi quite often. The former IAS officer on the other had been detained when he was trying to fly to Turkey from New Delhi. He was subsequently shifted to Srinagar and put under arrest. Sources said he was likely to be released soon. Last month, his close and party colleague, who is also a former student leader, had quit the party. Rumor mills were rife that she had quit the party following disagreement with the party leadership about their beliefs. |
