| CCTV cameras remain elusive at public places in Poonch | | |

Jammu, Jan 6: The much awaited project of installation of CCTV cameras at public places in Poonch district had remained unfulfilled putting security scenario of the area at risk.
As per sources, the project of installation of CCTV cameras was started many years ago and for that poles were erected at main public places, road crossing points but the project could not be completed as no CCTV cameras was installed on them.
Despite knowing the fact that installation of cameras are very essential for curbing crime, theft cases and regulating traffic movement but this project was left midway by the concerned authority.
When contacted SSP Poonch Ramesh Angral for his versions, he said that he had took up this matter with DGP. He also sought cooperation from civil society for installation of CCTVs outside their houses for surveillance. |
