Several delegations call on Lt Governor

JAMMU, Jan 31: Several delegations including All J&K Panchayat Conference, Forum for Peace and Territorial Integrity J&K, Jammu and All J&K Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha called on the Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu at the Raj Bhavan here today and projected their concerning demands.
A delegation of All J&K Panchayat Conference headed by its President Sh. Anil Sharma comprising of its members- Amjid Hussain Khatana, S. Raja Singh, Des Raj Bhagat and Rohit Sharma projected the demands related to implementation of 73rd Constitutional Amendment, District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) elections, welfare of Sarpanches & Panches etc.
While interacting with the members of the delegation, the Lt Governor reiterated the government’s commitment to implement 73rd Constitutional Amendment for complete empowerment of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs).
A delegation of Forum for Peace and Territorial Integrity J&K, Jammu led by former Member of Parliament, Sh. Sheikh Abdul Rehman submitted a memorandum of demands pertaining to early Assembly elections, constitution of Regional & Hill Development Councils and other issues of public importance.
A delegation of All J&K Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha headed by its President, Sh. Piran Ditta apprised the Lt Governor about their concerning issues.
The Lt Governor listened to the issues and demands put forth by the members of the delegations and assured them to take up their genuine issues for examination and early redressal. He observed that the present dispensation is taking outcome based measures to fulfill the aspirations of the people of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
