JAMMU, Feb 1: In order to sensitize the women beneficiaries about the benefits of the schemes being implemented by Jammu and Kashmir Women’s Development Corporation (JKWDC), a mega awareness camp-cum-Loan Mela was organized at Gurudwara Sahib Kirpind RS Pura Jammu sponsored by National Minorities Development & Finance Corporation (NMDFC) Ministry of Minority Affairs , Government of India. 700 women beneficiaries participated in the camp amongst whom loan application forms as well as pamphlets were distributed.
The camp was inaugurated by Dr Naheed Soz, Managing Director, Women’s Development Corporation. In her welcome address she highlighted various activities and achievements of women’s Development Corporation which has immensely contributed towards the empowerment of the women. The camp was attended by Child Development Project Officer SWD with staff , representative from Rural Development Deptt, Health Department, ICDS, Panchs and Sarpanchs , Principal, Govt. Girls High School, Kirpind RS Pura Jammu who also spoke on the occasion.
