3/9/2020 10:38:31 PM
Early Times Report
SAMBA, Mar 9: In order to aware public about the latest modus operandi adopted by the cyber criminals/fraudsters to dupe the innocent people, cyber crime awareness meetings were held by SHOs of Police Station Ghagwal and Ramgarh in their respective areas with the Sarpanches, Panches and other prominent persons.
During the meetings, the participants were made aware about Matrimonial fraud, Safe use of Social Media, Job fraud and financial fraud and about the latest methods used by the cyber criminals. They were also advised not to respond to any call seeking their personal information / Bank details and follow the safety measures.
The young generation has been using the social media sites extensively without understanding the gravity of hazards associated with them. It is our institutional social responsibility to educate them, generate awareness and create a crime free society.
Further during meetings, participants were also made aware about the basic protective measures against the Coronavirus and advised not to get panic. At the conclusion, the participants were asked to spread the cyber crime awareness among their near ones so that public may not become victim to the fraudsters/ Cyber Criminals. The participants appreciated such initiative and expressed their gratitude to District Police Samba. It is pertinent to mention here that District Police Samba through its official Social Media Accounts i.e Facebook / twitter /Instagram has regularly posting the cyber crime safety tips / latest emerging cyber trends to generate cyber awareness among the public.
