Stay home to keep COVID-19 away | | | After crossing the first two stages, India has entered into the third stage of the COVID-19 outbreak. This is the most dangerous phase as the numbers of the infected patients in the countries hit by this deadly virus have multiplied in this stage. People in India are keeping their fingers crossed and are hoping that this time-bomb doesn't explode. In our country in the first week three cases of COVID-19 were reported, in second week number rose to 24 and in the third week number has swelled to 283. The COVID-19 has spread like rapid fire in the countries like Italy and Iran after entering into the third stage. In Italy in the first week three patients tested positive, in the second week 152 cases came to fore, in the third week number went upto 1036, in fourth week it multiplied to 6362 and in fifth week it jumped to 21157. Till date more than 4800 people have died in Italy due to COVID-19. People of Italy are living in scare and are sending messages to the world that they should not take any chances. Message emerging from Italy is clear that the countries where the pandemic is yet to hit the people hard need to go in a lockdown mode to prevent this deadly virus from spreading. States and Union Territories across India are taking stern measures to keep people confined within their homes. The "Janata Curfew" announced by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a message to people across the country that only way to stop the spread of this deadly virus is to stay at home. Social distancing and keeping away from each other are the only ways which can keep us safe. The doctors at Safdarjung hospital in New Delhi have successfully treated 17 COVID-19 patients by giving them the combination of the anti-viral drugs. But if the number shoots up it will be difficult for the medicos to cope up with the emergency like situation, which could be the direct fallout of we acting casually. The people who are arriving in Jammu and Kashmir from the COVID-19 hit countries need to cooperate with the authorities rather than hiding their travel histories and running away from the screening and quarantine. We are facing an alarming situation. Only precautions can save our lives. Coronavirus can't intrude into our homes till we go out and invite it. So it's better to stay at home so that no invitation is given to this deadly virus. |
