Rajouri, Mar 22: At a time when the administration and health authorities are geared up to prevent COVID-19 from spreading, a goat was spotted roaming inside the SDH Kotranka in Rajouri district.
Reports said that yesterday some locals and a Sarpanch Abdul Qayoom Bhat Panchayat Halqa Mohra-B visited the SDH Kotranka and found that staff members were not present there besides the doctors were found inside their room.
The patients and the attendants also spotted a goat roaming in the hospital wards.
The attendants and the sarpanch meanwhile shot a video of the incident and uploaded on the social media where it get large criticism. “Yesterday we heard PM Narendra Modi’s address about the Janta Curfew on March 22 and he stressed people to take precautions while fighting with the COVID-19 but it is a bizarre to see the hospital staff and other authorities in slumber,” the sarpanch said, adding that no doctor was found present in the hospital during afternoon.
He said that district authorities also making efforts to control the coronavirus spread.
Is this the efforts by the authorities at SDH to control the virus by allowing animals inside the health centre.
They appealed the DC Rajouri to order the probe. BMO, Kotranka Dr Mohd Iqbal Malik when contacted said that staff and doctors were present at the hospital. Regarding the goat found inside the wards, the medical officer said he will inquire how it happened.
