Coronavirus threat put breaks on normal life, students arrived from Bangladesh put into home isolation | | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 22: The people in Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban District today confined themselves in homes as a part of Prime Minister appeal to observe Janta Curfew with an aim to break the Corona Virus jinx in larger area as it was believed that the life of the Virus ranged from few hours to 14 hours on various platforms viz steel handles, cardboards, cloths and other items. As per the details available with Early Times, the people in entire Chenab valley belt having the population of around 11 lakhs prefer to stay inside and the major roads and markets have deserted look with even essential services including medical shops remain closed in the area. The Corona Virus also put break in rural areas viz Marwah, Warwan, Padder, Bharat, Gundow, Bhunzwah , Marmat , Kastogarh, Gool, Arnas, Neel, Chamalwas and other far flung areas of Chenab belt had followed the Janta Curfew even though these areas had mostly no big markets. While at the same time , District Administration in Kishtwar in collaboration with Kishtwar Municipal Council continues its fumigation and spray drive in various areas of Kishtwar town. Speaking to Early Times, President MC Kishtwar Raiz Ahmed Zarger said that the Janta Curfew had help them lot today to carry out disinfection drive in various areas of the Kishtwar town. He said that ADDC Kishtwar Mohammad Hanief Malik, ADC Kishtwar Pawan Kumar Parihar, Dy. SP Hq Kishtwar Sunny Gupta, counsellors of MC Kishtwar accompanied him and provide all logistic support to Kishtwar MC to carry forward its disinfectant drive in the town. Zarger said that all the congested areas in all the 13 wards are being disinfected added that the drive will remain continue till the epidemic threat ends. He also extended his sincere thanks to DC Kishtwar Rajinder Singh Tara for his overwhelming support to Kishtwar MC during the need of the hour. President MC made a desperate appeal to the people to remain indoors and came out of their homes only in case of any emergency or for medical support. He said that Kishtwar town is the first major entry in the District and a front line defence against the Virus and ask the people to be careful by maintaining proper hygiene in respective locality. Meanwhile three MBBS students who had been studying medical in Bangladesh and had arrived in Kishtwar had been put under home quarantine. A senior official in health department told the Early Times that all the three students are normal and had no symptoms added that they were adviced to follow the guidelines and stay inside home quarantine. The officer told the Early Times that around 2 dozen people are under surveillance in Kishtwar District and said that by the grace of God, all are normal till date and urged the people— not to panic and appeal for cooperation. Similar action were taken by the District Administration in Doda and Ramban District where students arriving from foreign countries are being put under surveillance.
