Jammu, Apr 11: The COVID-19 pandemic is a cause of great concern while the whole nation is locked down, POWERGRID, the Central Transmission Utility of India, has been ensuring uninterrupted 24x7 power supply. POWERGRID, Northern Region-II is ensuring that no contractual employee or the people in vicinity of its establishments have scarcity of food and essential items. Under CSR initiative POWERGRID Northern Region-II having its Regional office at Jammu, is distributing food packets/groceries to contractual workers, the laborers and needy people at its transmission line offices and substation sites in the entire Region from Leh to Fatehabad. Besides, these essential items, distribution of Masks, Sanitizers, soaps is being also carried out. In one such distribution today, POWERGRID handed over dry ration items viz. rice, atta, pulses, milk, salt, sugar, cooking oil, bathing soap, tea, turmeric etc. to Ved Mandir Bal Niketan, Ambphalla, Jammu, a school for orphans, destitutes and handicapped children. Northern Region-II In the current challenging times, POWERGRID, employees are showing their commitment in fighting this pandemic by distributing the essential commodities and PPEs to the needy near its establishments.
