Early Times Report jammu, Apr 11: Despite inclusion of Agricultural inputs under essential services by Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India in the wake breakout of Coronavirus and countrywide lockdown, and officially request by Director Agriculture Jammu to all the Deputy Commissioners of Jammu division to make functional agricultural inputs, no official order has been issued for the purpose by many districts. According to sources, Director Agriculture Jammu on April 4, 2020 wrote all the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of Jammu and requested that the sale centres of pesticides / fertilizers / seeds operating in your district may kindly be made functional so that the supply of Agriculture Inputs is not hampered during the lockdown period. "Advisory regarding Agriculture Inputs and functioning of Seeds, Fertilizers, Pesticides sale Centers. Ref : (i) MHA Order No.40-3/2020-DM-1(A), dated 24.03.2020 read with Addendum dated 25.03.2020 and Addendum dated 27.03.2020. (ii) Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers (Department of Fertilizers) Fax dated 26.03.2020 was prominently mentioned in the letter, but no official orders have been issued yet by the some DCs, since complete lockdown is being observed here as well like entire country an official order is required from the concerned DMs to make these store functional", they said. Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sushma Chouhan said that as the MHA had included agricultural inputs in essential services, no separate order form the District Magistrate is required. "If any individual has any grievances she/he can contact to Agriculture department for that purpose", the DC added. |
