Evacuate labour stranded outside J&K, Ashok urges LG | | | Early Times Report
Ramban, Apr 11: Ashok Kumar Former MLA has urged to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir that students, migrant labourers, unorganised labour and other people who are stranded outside of Jammu and Kashmir in different parts of the country should be evacuated before the further extension of lock down on 14th April. These stranded people must be evacuated following the concerned covid-19 protocol on the humanitarian grounds. Ashok said these stranded people are facing difficulties to sustain their livelihoods away from their families under the lock down in entire country as a result of covid-19 pandemic. In a statement here, Ashok said: "I have got too many calls of the stranded people of my constituency who are struck outside. If there is possibility of extension of lockdown beyond 14th April, it would obviously become difficult for stranded people who are already away from their families and in huge financial crises, migrated to cities for small scale jobs in unorganised sectors as daily wagers. In such crucial times, it is the duty of the government to bring them back to their respective native places". he told. Senior Congress leader of Chenab valley further stressed to the Government of India and lieutenant governor of Jammu and Kashmir to provide free transport facilities through trains and buses to these stranded people who are struck outside of Jammu and Kashmir after examining medical checkups under the covid-19 protocol. Also, take immediate urgent measures to provide financial assistance, food items and other essential services. As most of these people are semi-migrant labourers, unorganised labourers, students with poor family background and other daily wagers. Lastly, on humanitarian ground Ashok appealed to people of India to look around your limited spaces so that no one sleeps without a food under these unprecedented crises of Covid-19 pandemic. And we all citizens of country should fight collectively to eradicate this Virus from India.
