Court rejects bail of narco smuggler | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 11: Principal Sessions Judge Reasi Kamlesh Pandit rejected the bail application of one nacro smuggler. The accused person moved a bail application through his brother. Principal Sessions Judge Reasi Kamlesh Pandit after gone through the application observed that the drug menace is burgeoning with pace and its perpetrators are designing every day a new mode to introduce it to younger generation. The adverse effect of such drugs is dependence syndrome, psychological and mental disorder followed by symptom of stress or depression. Though the right to Liberty is a fundamental right and the citizens are free to move anywhere in the country but presently reasonable restrictions have been imposed to prevent the spread of corona virus and the medical experts have impressed upon social distancing and in such circumstances release of accused/applicant herein at the cost of breaching the order of lock-down and at the cost of risking lives of many cannot be considered to fall within the category of extreme urgent matter. With these observations Court rejected the bail application. --JNF |
