Nowshera’s Corona positive woman’s case exposes authorities’ claims | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 17: Failure of the authorities to stop a woman from staying at her home despite her travel history from Delhi has exposed failure of those at the helm of the affairs. The 31-year-old woman was tested positive of Corona positive on Friday. Credible sources said that it was all due to pressure from a politician that woman was allowed to accompany body of her mother-in-law and stay home without any test despite being the fact that she has travel history of visiting Delhi along with her ailing mother-in-law who died some days back. The woman a resident of Kalsian, Nowshera in Rajouri district was tested positive for Coronavirus on Friday. She along with some of her family members had returned from New Delhi few days back carrying body of her mother-in law who had passed away in New Delhi. The woman was cremated at Kalsian. A large number of locals had attended cremation of the woman while others had visited her residence at Kalsian. Ironically, the woman despite travel history from New Delhi, was allowed to stay home. Although her family members and contacts are being isolated for quarantine and sample testing, the biggest question is how the woman was allowed to stay at home despite the fact she had to go for compulsory quarantine. Sources said that woman and others who were coming from Delhi with dead body were stopped at Lakhanpur for testing and quarantine but a politician intervened and forced the authorities to allow her to accompany dead body of her mother-in-law. It was decided that after cremation, the woman and other attendants would go for quarantine but due to pressure of the same politicians none of them had gone for quarantine. Rather they continued to mingle with relatives and other villagers who came to expresses condolences over death in their family. |
