AJKYF Ramban pays tributes to deceased of road accident | | | Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Sept 1: All J&K Youth Federation District Committee Ramban conveyed heartfelt condolences to family members, relatives and friends of the deceased eight passengers in fatal road accident. Pertinently yesterday very tragic accident took place at Ramban National Highway. Eight persons are feared to have drowned and washed away in Chenab when a Ramban bound vehicle (Tempo Traveler (JK14D7929) skidded off the NH44 at Mehad on the outskirts of Ramban town yesterday evening. The vehicle was going from Jammu to Ramban. District committee said, the highway widening work was started in 2011 and it was targeted to be completed within five years from its commencement. Government is not paying any heed to the worst condition of the road from Udhampur to Banihal. At least, please fill up the potholes which are causing accidents. AJKYF District committee further added, Lot of innocent people lost their lives due to worst condition of road. Our life has become miserable ever since the work on the highway project started. The executing agencies have outsourced their work to local contractors who do not have much expertise and experience of cutting mountains, as a result of which we are facing increased landslide activity even if there is a drizzle, as a result number of accident every day.
