| Locals demand registration of FIR against RDD officials involved in embezzlement of funds | | | Ajay Sharma

SUNDERBANI, Sept 1: Despite the fact that First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged against a person who attacked a poor farmer after he denied to hand over the payment in lieu of works never carried out by him demand is growing similar action should be initiated against the employees of Rural Development Department (RDD).
A group of people while sharing views with Early Times said that Village Level Workers (VLWs) and Gram Rozgar Sevaks (GRSs) are involved in scams worth lakhs of rupees. They said that FIRs should be registered against these officials since they are involved in huge embezzlement.
“It is good that an FIR has been lodged against the goon who attacked the farmer but what about the VLWs and GRSs who are involved in multiple scams in this block in Rajouri district. No action has been taken against these officials and they need to be taken to task,” said locals.
The locals said that action needs to be taken against the officials who have over the years’ facilitated construction of faulty public infrastructure. They have appealed SSP Rajouri and ASP Nowshera to personally intervene and ensure that action is taken against the errant officials.
