No more weekend lockdown in Jammu, shops to remain open | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 1: After more than a month when weekend lockdown was ordered in Jammu district to control COVID-19 spread, the government has decided to end the practice. Officials said that the weekend lockdown that used to come in force at 6 pm on Friday and ended on Monday 6 am every week in Jammu district will not be enforced from now. The Deputy Commissioner Sushma Chauhan had decided to start a weekend lockdown on July 24 when Jammu witnessed a sudden rise in Coronavirus cases. Shops and other commercial activities were not allowed during the weekend lockdown. However now shops and other establishments can open as usual during the weekend in Jammu. While the cases were still rising, the weekend lockdown in Jammu will not be enforced now. |
