Online lecture on ‘keep the soil alive’ conducted | | | Early Times Report
Ramnagar, Feb 11; To impart the practical knowledge of important nutrients of the soil and various testswhich are to be performed to find the percentage nutrient composition in soil, Department of Chemistry, Govt Degree College, Ramnagar under the guidance of head of the department Prof Ritika Mahajan conducted an online lecture of Dr NeerajRajwal, Assistant Soil Chemistry, Department of Agriculture, J&K through Zoom App. Dr Rajwal introduced the students about the basic nutrient requirements of soil and with the soil health cards and its benefits. He also demonstrated the various laboratory experiments to find the percentage nutrient contents in the soil sample. Firstly he explained the correct procedure to take the soil sample from the field and then he performed tests to find organic carbon content by titration method, potassium by flame photometer and sulphur content by spectrophotometer. He also demonstrated the method of estimatind the micronutrient contents in the soil by AAS( atomic absorption method). At last Dr Rajwal expressed the need of good health of soil in the coming time and Dr UdheyBhanu , Principal GDC Ramnagar thanked Dr Rajwal for conducting a useful and innovative lecture and applaud the Chemistry Department for conducting the session. |
