SRINAGAR, Feb 11: The COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir reached 97.94 percent as 40 more virus affected patients recovered today. The total positive cases reached 1, 25,117 with 65 new cases being reported today; with two fresh deaths the death toll reached 1,947. Srinagar district reported 20 fresh cases of Corona Virus followed by Jammu district nine cases, Baramulla, Pulwama and Udhampur districts six cases each, Anantnag and Ganderbal districts five cases each, Budgam district four cases and Kupwara, Bandipora, Kulgam & Shopian districts one case each. Srinagar and Bandipora districts in the Kashmir valley each reported a fresh virus death with no death being reported from Jammu division. So far 1,225 people have died due to the virus in Kashmir valley while in Jammu division 722 virus related deaths have taken place up to this date. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 65 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 15 from Jammu division and 50 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 25,117. Also two COVID-19 deaths have been reported from Kashmir division. Moreover, 40 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including six from Jammu division and 34 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 25,117 positive cases, 628 are active positive, 1, 22,542 have recovered and 1947 have died; 722 in Jammu division and 1,225 in Kashmir division. Out of 47, 76,402 test results available, 46, 51,285 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 11, 98,119 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 33,797 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 628 in isolation and 1, 05,379 in home surveillance. Besides, 10, 56,368 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 26,439 positive cases, 224 active Positive, 25,756 recovered, 459 deaths; Baramulla has 8,142 positive cases, 20 active positive, 7,947 recovered, 175 deaths; Budgam has 7,812 positive cases, 42 active positive, 7,652 recovered, 118 deaths; Pulwama has 5,773 positive cases, 50 active positive, 5,635 recovered, 88 deaths; Kupwara has 5,668 positive cases, six active positive, 5,566 recovered, 96 deaths. "Anantnag has 4,948 positive cases, 52 active positive, 4,810 recovered, 86 deaths; Bandipora has 4,701 positive cases, 18 active positive, 4621 recovered, 62 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,655 positive cases, 54 active positive, 4,554 recovered, 47 deaths; Kulgam has 2,704 positive cases, 18 active positive, 2,632 recovered, 54 deaths and Shopian has 2,580 positive cases, 16 active positive, 2,524 recovered, 40 deaths," reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 25,051 positive cases, 63 active positive, 24,617 recovered, 371 deaths; Udhampur has 4,232 positive cases, 29 active positive, 4,146 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,870 positive cases, two active positive, 3,813 recovered, 55 deaths; Doda has 3,435 positive cases, five active positive, 3,366 recovered, 64 deaths; Kathua has 3,256 positive cases, one active positive, 3,202 recovered, 53 deaths. "Samba has 2,832 positive cases, seven active positive, 2,785 recovered, 40 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,732 positive cases, one active positive, 2,709 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,507 positive cases, 12 active positive, 2,471 recovered, 24 deaths; Ramban has 2,135 positive cases, two active positive, 2,112 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,645 positive cases, six active positive, 1,624 recovered, 15 deaths," reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 25,117 positive cases in J&K, 11,847 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
