Doctor under scanner for receiving payments from medical shops | | | Saahil Suhail Early Times Report
Shopian, Feb 11: The District Vigilance Officer (DVO) Shopian has initiated a probe against a female doctor after receiving complaints that she and her team were allegedly taking money from the medical shops. According to reports, the District Vigilance Officer (DVO) Shopian ordered a probe into the matter soon after he received a written complaint against the accused doctor. The accused doctor, who works at District Hospital Shopian, was also put on notice and directed to appear before the DVO along with her team on Saturday. “The probe is underway and we are investigating everything mentioned in the complaint,” an officer told Early Times. According to documents, copies of which are in possession of Early Times, female doctor is accused of misbehaving with the patients. “They (doctor and her team) are performing malpractices in terms of medicines in collaboration with the medical shops. Patients have to bear a huge amount to be paid for medical charges because the doctor and her team get their share out of it,” reads an official communiqué. The doctor and her team were allegedly forcing patients to purchase medicines and other related items of particular pharma companies on very high rates. “This isn’t happening in Shopain only it is everywhere in Jammu and Kashmir. Most doctors prescribe only medicines of those companies that compensate them,” sources alleged. An official said that government must formulate a policy and direct all government doctors to declare their assets everywhere like IAS, IPS, IFS and other officer are disclosing. “Let Government seek property statement from all the doctors working in government hospitals,” he added. |
