| DDC administers oath to DDC Chairperson, Vice Chairperson at Udhampur | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, Feb 11: Newly elected District Development Council, Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of District Udhampur today took oath of office here at a ceremony organized by District Administration.
The oath was administered by District Panchayat Election Officer, Dr Piyush Singla.
The DPEO administered oath to Chairperson Lal Chand elected District Development Council from Udhampur -II DDC and Juhi Manhas Vice Chairperson elected DDC from 5- Khoon DDC Constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, the DPEO congratulated the newly elected DDC Chairperson and Vice Chairperson. He hoped that the DDC under the leadership of the chairman will take development scenario to new heights in the rural areas and work in tandem for the betterment of people. The DPEO said that the elected representatives of DDC have great role in resolving issues of development and progress of the common masses. He said the purpose of the decentralization of powers is to bring governance at the doorsteps of the people.
BDC Chairman, Panchari, Jeevan Sharma; Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar; Chief Planning Officer, Rajeev Bhushan; Dy DEO, Dr Shavi; DIO, Er Sajad Bashir Somberia, and other senior officers of the district were present. |
