Spot demos for agri-entrepreneurs held | | | Early Times Report
Ramban, Feb 23: In order to promote entrepreneurship in agriculture and allied sectors JKRLM (UMEED), Ramban under extended convergence strategy, organized on the field demonstrations in collaboration with the Agriculture Department. Such initiatives are carried out to motivate and encourage potential beneficiaries for adopting best practices in agricultural activities so that they can be converted and linked with Prime Minister's Formalization of Micro Enterprise Scheme (PMFME). At Sangaldan an exclusive demonstration session was also held in which Agriculture Extension Officer, K K Koul in presence of District Nodal Officer, NRLM, Ramban imparted technical know-how of innovative farming to the participants besides sensitizing the officials of BMMU Gool to identify beneficiaries of Self-help groups. The identified SHGs were fully acquainted with benchmark technologies in mushroom cultivation besides providing on-spot demonstration across block Sangaldan on how to arrange raw material and preparing growing environment in terms of grass straw, filling-up of polythene bags with in-situ mushroom seeds in a scientific method, before final placement of these bags for proper growth. According to Block Programme Manager JKRLM Gool, 31 households of GGH have been identified for the first batch under mushroom cultivation whose seeds have been distributed with potential output of 6-7 kgs of mushroom as end result produce after a period of 21 days under proper monitoring. |
