In which capacity BJP leaders are distributing domicile certificates, Ayushman cards to people?
2/24/2021 12:03:54 AM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 23: Amid allegations that second rung BJP leaders are cheating poor people in the name of providing them benefits of welfare schemes launched by the government, people are questioning authority of Saffron Party leaders to distribute domicile certificates and Ayushman Cards to the people.
Although elected representatives be it Corporator, Councilors or Panchayat members have the right to distribute these documents among beneficiaries, second-rung party leaders have no authority to distribute these cards to the masses.
Shockingly domicile certificate is an official document issued by the Revenue Department but BJP leaders are organizing public functions to distribute such documents.
Every day BJP leaders are issuing official hand-outs to mention the areas where they have distributed either domicile certificates or Ayushman cards. Instead of allowing officers to handover domicile certificates to the people, BJP leaders themselves distribute these certificates in public functions.
As reported earlier by The Early Times in some areas second-rung BJP leaders were charging money from the poor people in lieu of distributing these documents, required for taking benefits of various welfare schemes.
Reliable sources said this matter was brought to the notice of some senior BJP leaders but they preferred to maintain a ‘criminal silence’ because those involved in cheating people are close-confident to top-brass.
Reliable sources said that preparing different cards for welfare schemes has become a source of income for some second rung BJP leaders.
