Azad’s move to attend non-political function in Jammu raises questions!
2/24/2021 12:04:07 AM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 23: Decision of former leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha and Congress stalwart Ghulam Nabi Azad to attend non-political function at Jammu to ‘avoid’ party’s political function raises many questions.
After his retirement as member of the Rajya Sabha, Azad is first time coming to Jammu on February 27 to attend function of a non-political organization. Although Azad is attending the non-political function, his supporters in the Congress are working round the clock to make it a ‘historic’ event.
Reliable sources said that Congress is also going to organize a function on February 25 but Azad’s loyalists were more concerned about February 27 event in which former leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha will grace the occasion.
Sources said that after his retirement as member of the Rajya Sabha, Azad is more particular about attending non-political functions to develop his image as a neutral leader. “Although will remain apolitical for some time, he will continue to do politics in the Congress through his loyalists”, sources said and pointed out that February 27’s non-political function is the beginning of Azad’s new politics in J&K.
Pointing towards decision of Azad to choose Jammu as first destination to visit after his retirement from Rajya Sabha, sources said that it was a clear indication that he (Azad) will continue to mark his presence in J&K’s politics in general and Pradesh Congress in particular.
