Jammu, Feb 23: One day's exposure visit within the Jammu District was organised at Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo, by the Department of Agriculture and Farmer's Welfare under Agriculture Technology Management Agency ( ATMA ), today under the Directions of Worthy Director Agriculture Jammu Inderjeet , guidance of Worthy Chief Agriculture Jammu Dr.A.S.Reen & under supervision of Worthy SDAO Marh Dr. Ashwani Jojra
About 120 farmers from all the five zones of the Sub Division Marh participated in this one day program.
The main aim of this visit was to encourage and motivate farmers to adopt new technologies and practices of Integrated Farming System so that sustainable agricultural practices with the aim of Doubling the farmers income by the year 2022 can be achieved.
During this visit the farmers were made aware of the advancements in the agriculture sector to enhance their production as well as of the organic practices to save the ecosystem.
The farmers visited the various facilities in the Krishi Bhawan like the Protected Cultivation of Agronomy wing,Mushroom unit, Apeculture,Poly house, Shade net, and the JPEA farm. Here the farmers were demonstrated the scientific method of raising the seedlings in the nursery.
They also visited the demonstration plots under various vegetables and ornamental plants to encourage them to adopt Oleri and Floriculture in order to boost their income.
They were also shown the mushroom and the hi-tech spawn production unit in the premises.
The DDC Chairman Sh. Bharat Bhushan was chief guest & Sh.Omi Khajuria President Kisan Morcha was the Guest of honour on the occasion. The occasion was also graced by the Joint Director Agriculture Extension Dr. Shahid Iqbal Sheikh and Dr. R K Hiteshi Dy Director Central, SDAO Marh DrAshwani Jojra, Dr.Vijay Johar (SMS-SDL)&Dr.Sunil Raina. |
