Jammu, Mar 5: As Covid restrictions on educational institutions are being eased by the UT government of Jammu & Kashmir allowing schools to resume classes while strictly adhering to social distancing norms, Sainik School Nagrota recalled Class X and XII cadets on 25 Feb 2021 in the first phase and cadets of Class IX and XI reported back on 05 March 2021 in the second phase. A comprehensive reception cum accommodation plan was prepared under the directions of Capt (IN) Vikrant Kishore ably supported by the Vice Principal Lt Col Pawan and the school staff to ensure safe intake of cadets returning to school from different states. All cadets were intimated to get themselves tested and only cadets with Covid negative report plus parent’s consent were granted entry into the school. Provisions of sanitizers, thermal screening and hand-wash were made available at the auditorium entry point. Hostels, mess and classrooms were brought-up to requisite standards to suit the new normal in the post-Covid education system, at Sainik School Nagrota. Cadets of Class X and XII had initially been administered Rapid Antigen Test in which all of them tested negative. However, in order to ensure absolute safety and eliminate chances of any lapse, RTPCR test was done for all cadets on 05 March 2021.
