Omar Abdullah stands against Modi-critics, now mocks at Rahul Gandhi | Rang Badalti Duniya! | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 5: The National Conference seems to be inching towards improving relations with the Modi government as former Chief Minister and the NC, President, Omar Abdullah has stopped supporting those who criticize the NDA led government at the center. In the recent surprise, Omar Abdullah retweeted a news report by national media that had taken a dig at Congress leader, Rahul Gandhi for his controversial “north-south remarks.” It is pertinent to mention that Omar was seen among the staunch supporters of Rahul Gandhi till a few months ago. It was largely believed that Rahul had played a key role in convincing Congress to support Omar as being the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir in the past. Interestingly, Omar also used to be an admirer of Samajwadi Party, President, Akhilesh Yadav. But recently when, Akhilesh caused a stir over Covid19 vaccine saying that he was not sure of its efficacy only to target Modi-government, Omar had seemingly come in support of the BJP government. Omar had volunteered to get vaccinated, if given a chance for the same only to take a dig at the UP leader, Akhilesh. For the last few months, Omar avoids speaking against the Bharatiya Janta Party. It is pertinent to mention that, as per the political analysts, the Abdullahs have softened their stand against the Bharatiya Janta Party since the day, Enforcement Directorate attached the property of Dr Farooq Abdullah in connection with the multi-crore cricket scam. Otherwise, it was Dr Farooq Abdullah who had taken a lead in the formation of the so called Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration against the decisions on Jammu and Kashmir taken by the Modi government. But as of now the NC leaders in general and Abdullahs in particular are often accused having suddenly gone silent even on the PAGD. Political observers said that the Abdullahs may have gone soft towards the BJP “out of appeasement politics for personal gains.” Repeated attempts to contact Omar Abdullah couldn’t bear fruit. |
