JAMMU, Mar 5: In view of the Mahashivaratri festival, the Dharmarth Trust employees, who are on protest for the last 95 days and chain hunger strike for the last 68 days, on Friday started cleanliness in all temples in Shri Raghunath Temple. “In view of the Mahashivaratri festival, we have postponed the strike from March 10 to 12 however, a gradual chain hunger strike will continue,” President of Dharmarth Trust Employees Association, Vivek Bandral told reporters. “It was also decided to move the chain hunger strike site from the Sri Ranbireshwar Temple complex to the back side of the temple,” she said She said that due to the over three month long agitation, the cleanliness of the temples could not be done in a phased manner and in such a situation, all the employees now started cleaning the temples together. “First we are Hindu and understand the importance of festivals,” she said. “Our fight is with Dharmarth Trust management and the Puja-Archana has not been affected before nor will it happen further,” she said adding that Mahashivaratri will be celebrated with full enthusiasm as before. “All employees have been assigned to duty,” she said and exuded confidence that no devotee will face any kind of trouble. Dharmarth Trust employees are protesting for constitution of the Board for all temples under Dharmarth Trust on the pattern of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. Meanwhile, those who sat on a chain hunger strike today include Mohan Lal, Dev Raj, Balwant, Kewal, Ashwani Kumar, Bhikham, Pt. Rajesh Kumar, Pt. Vinod Sharma and Pt Vikas Sharma. |
