Roll back sand, gravel extraction orders: Tajinder Singh | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 18: While reacting to shortage of construction material like sand and gravel in Jammu and Kashmir UT renowned social/political activist Sardar Tajinder Singh has urged the Government of India to roll back the orders which are creating hurdles for the rights of local in extracting material as this order is responsible for economic losses rising prices of material and from all of above rising unemployment among the quarry workers in Jammu and Kashmir. Tajinder Singh express anguish over the condition of lakhs of people connected with this business who are at verge of starvation due to government order restricting them from extracting sand, gravel etc. He urged the Government to resolve the matter to ensure that those associated with this business since long are allowed to earn their livelihood, which has been snatched by the administration through single order. Tajinder said that Government must frame a comprehensive policy taking in view of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand model where right of local on their natural resources have been safeguarded and insulated against the impact of e-auction process. |
