3/19/2021 1:40:55 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 18: The Agriculture Production Department is sitting over a complaint of Date of Birth (DOB) tampering by a senior officer, sources told Early Times.
They said that the report about same was forwarded by Director Agriculture along with relevant documents nearly four months ago but till date no action has been taken.
According to the communication forwarded by the then Director Agriculture Kashmir to Principal Secretary to Government APD, vide number Agri/Estt/Gaz-PF/2020-21/2780 dated 13/11/2020, a reference of the clarification sought by the Directorate of Agriculture from Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) regarding the minimum eligibility of age requirement to appear in the Matriculation Examination was given.
It has been maintained that the Director Academics of JK BOSE vide its communication no.F(Acad-C) Elective-B/2 dated 4/9/2020 has intimated that eligibility to appear in Secondary Examination 10th must be 14+.
Taking this reference regarding minimum age eligibility, the Directorate communiqué maintained that one officer of the Department posted as Incharge Project Coordinator has passed his Matriculation in the year 1974 wherein his Date of Birth is shown as 11/10/1961. “Therefore the age of officer during the time of appearing in 10th examination comes around only 13 years and some months, which was in total violation of eligibility criteria as envisaged by JKBOSE”, the communiqué reads.
However after the lapse of over four months, no further action has been taken by the Administrative wing over the matter.
Sources informed that in Kashmir province there was an abundance of complaints of age tampering as well as tampering of other documents of officers. “Over forty complaints of documents tampering were received by Agriculture Department in last few years out of which 14 cases were forwarded to Crime Branch by Administrative Department for further enquiry, while many of the similar cases are still pending action, including the above mentioned”, sources said, adding that these employees and officers have tampered with their documents during the peak of militancy.
Couple of months back following an investigation it was proved by the Department that two District level officers of the Agriculture Department Kashmir had tampered their DOB by many years. “Over Rs. 60 lakh was recovered from an officer for tampering of the documents, while recently a Special Secretary level officer was found involved in tampering of his DOB, after which action was taken by LG led administration”, sources said, adding that a detailed investigation into the complaints of tampering of documents should be conducted, so that all black sheep are identified and penalized.
