Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 18: Known for giving provocative statements to stoking controversies, National Conference leader Mustafa Kamaal, who is brother of former chief minister Dr Farooq Abdullah, blamed security forces for selective killings of Kashmiri Hindus and Sikhs in the Valley after emergence of terrorism in J&K.
According to a Kashmir based news agency, while addressing a function at Damhal Hanjipora in South Kashmir to observe 27th death anniversary of NC leader Ali Mohammad Itoo, Mustafa Kamaal blamed men in uniform, for killing the Kashmiri Pandits in and Sikhs in order to shift the blame on Kashmiri Muslims. He also added that the move was aimed at sow the seeds of discord in the harmony of Kashmiri society.
By shifting blames on men in uniform for selective killings of minorities in Kashmir Valley, Mustafa Kamaal tried to give clear chit to terror groups involved in committing gruesome massacres to create terror among minority communities.
Mustafa Kamaal is known for giving controversial statements to play to his constituency.
Important to mention here that in the year 2011, he was removed from the post of spokesperson and general secretary of the NC by Dr Farooq Abdullah when he (Kamaal) made highly controversial statement while reacting to grenade attack in Valley.
He had blamed disgruntled elements within the Army for grenade attacks in the Srinagar city and alleged that attacks were aimed at scuttling moves by the then chief minister Omar Abdullah to withdraw the Armed Forces Special Powers Act from some parts of J&K.
Earlier in 2018 he triggered any controversy by stating that killing of security personnel was too small an excuse to cancel India-Pak talks, which had evoked widespread condemnation.
