In 1-year, headmaster attends school for 28 days | | | Ajay Sharma
Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 18: Headmaster of Government High School Barnara in Lower Hathal Zone in Rajouri district has attended the school only for 28 days in one year, locals have alleged. Ex-Sarpanch of Lower Hathal, Tirath Ram Sharma, told Early Times that till date they have apprised the higher authorities about the headmaster’s unpunctuality on many occasions but no action has been taken against him. “The future of our children is at stake but no one seems bothered. If the headmaster is unpunctual, how can one expect teachers to attend their duties?” Sharma asked. Another local resident said that the headmaster believes that the school is his “fiefdom” and he is not accountable to anyone. “It’s unfortunate that a man entrusted to build the future of our children is so careless,” he added. When contacted Zonal Education Officer Lower Hathal said, “After getting the complaints against the headmaster we had ordered a probe. A committee headed by Ashok Kumar Sharma, Principal Boys Higher Secondary School looked into the allegations against the headmaster and submitted its report. The report has been forwarded to Chief Education Officer Rajouri for further action.” Despite repeated attempts the CEO Rajouri couldn’t be contacted as his phone was switched off. |
