Jammu, Mar 18: Different awareness programme were organized at different places at Jammu. As per press release, Shere - Kashmir Sports Club (SKSC) Jammu in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir AIDS Control Society conducted various awareness programs on HIV/AIDS, blood donation and drug de-addiction at Satwari (Narwal Pain), Jeevan Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Gujar Nagar and Shastri Nagar. A large number of youth in the age group of (18-35) years attended these awareness programmes. The resource person's namely Jameel Ahmed and Pawan Gupta made a detailed presentation about the prevention, treatment and control of HIV/AIDS, voluntary Blood donation and the increasing life threatening drug abuse cum alcoholism. Those who attended the programs included Ajay Mahajan, Gurdeep, Pumma, Mohd Akhter, Jageer Singh, Bharat Kumar, Aman Gupta, Reyaz, Rinku, Surinder Chib, Naresh, etc. In another awareness program on Hiv/aids and drug addiction was conducted at Qasim Nagar, Narwal Byepass Jammu by Himalaya Sewa Sang, Jammu in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir aids control society. A large number of youths participated in the program. The participants were sensitized about the prevention and control of hiv/aids. They were also lectured about the need of voluntary blood donation in the community. The speakers highlighted the ill effects of drug addiction on the lives of youth.
