JAMMU, Mar 26: Munish Gupta, Editor in Chief, Early Times has asked the administration to come up to the expectations of the people residing in Jammu region and solve the problems of the inhabitants living in different areas of the city of temples.
Referring to the problems being faced by the people of Gandhi Nagar constituency Munish Gupta said that many areas of the Gandhi Nagar constituency have been left to the mercy of God and despite repeatedly taking up the issues with the people at the helm of affairs, necessary steps have not been taken to mitigate the sufferings of the people.
Munish said that people of Lane 1 Akali Kour Singh Nagar Digiana Jammu have been facing many problems such as the condition of lanes, roads of the area is pathetic, which need to be improved so that people feel the difference.
“Roads are most important component of the life of citizens living in urban or rural areas. The roads of the area are in dilapidated condition and no step has been taken to improve the condition of the roads in the locality. The problem on account of this need to be fixed and that too at the earliest so that people no more feel alienated,” said Munish Gupta.
Residents said that the construction work that has been started in the area should be completed at the earliest so that they don’t face problems furthermore. The residents demanded that a drain should be constructed in their area and that should be there in the middle of the lane, so that the width of the lanes would be as per standards.
“Since the roads are in dilapidated condition it is important that condition of same is improved. As the summer season has already set in and due to pitiable condition of roads the dust that comes off the roads leads to multiple problems for the residents. During the winter the mud and dirt add to the woes of the residents of the area,” said the residents.
The residents said that clear cut directions should be issued to the sanitation staff of Jammu Municipal Corporation to lift the garbage from the area. They said that once the garbage is lifted there would no collection of the same in the drains thus leading to overflowing of the drains.
“The basic problem is that concerned people do not do their job with honesty. As a result of this we have to encounter the problems. It is important that the concerned officials are put to task so that they deliver to their best level on the ground when it comes to Lane 1 Akali Kour Singh Nagar Digiana Jammu ,” said the residents.
The residents said that lanes of the area also need to be developed since they are in bad condition. They said that roads should be developed according to the modern day demands adding that this too should be done on priority. |
