3/27/2021 12:19:09 AM
Early Times Report
jammu, Mar 26: Even after the passing of three years, the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has not completed the recruitment process for the posts of Assistant Professors in various subjects.
The JKPSC in 2017, vide notification number 10-PSC(DR-P) dated 27/10/2017 had issued advertisement notification, inviting applications for posts of Assistant Professors in various subjects in the department of Higher Education. Though the recruitment process in some subjects has already been completed but for eighty six posts in the subject of English as well as five posts in the subject of Urdu the recruitment process is yet to be completed.
The aspirants who had applied for the posts informed Early Times that whenever they called the JKPSC authorities, they were told the process is in its final stage but the process was yet to be completed.
"Under the same notification, those selected in other subjects have already joined the department and have also completed several months in service but the aspirants in English subject have been forced to wait further", an aspirant said, adding that the delay in the recruitment process by the JKPSC would impact the future prospects of the candidates, as once those who would join the department, they would fall below in the seniority list.
Another aspirant said that the highly qualified youth have to wait for years together due to the functioning of the JKPSC and the government should take cognizance of the matter and make the recruitment process time bound.
An official of JKPSC, pleading anonymity said that the delay in the recruitment process was due to technical problems as following the abrogation of Article-370, the JKPSC was reconstituted while some other changes were required in the reconstituted Commission, due to which the delay occurred. The official said that the recruitment process for the posts of English was almost in the final stage and would be completed soon.
Secretary of the JKPSC, RK Katoch didn't picked up his phone for comments.
