JAMMU, Mar 26: Raman Suri, who is Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir Executive Member as well as General Secretary Tourism Federation Jammu, today filed his nomination for the post of President, Sarafa Association Jammu in the upcoming elections. This is after a span of over fifty years that this prestigious organisation of renowned and well-established jewellers of Jammu region, will go for polls.
Earlier, Parjan Kumar Jain remained the President of Sarafa Association Jammu for fifty years till 29th November 2020, the day when he breathed his last.
Sensing the need for constituting a fresh body, Sarafa Association's prominent members comprising of Vijay Kumar Verma, Surinder Jain, Vijay Saraf, Ajay Talla, Rakesh Mahajan, Sanjay Jain, Chaman Lal Khajuria, Deepak Jain and Darshan Lal, after much consultations, appointed Darshan Lal as the election in-charge and issued the election notification on 25th March 2021.
