NRLM organizes training camp on Mushroom cultivation at Sangaldan | | | Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Apr 6: Self Help Groups have started mushroom cultivation in Sangaldan area after taking prior training from the Agriculture Department during a workshop conducted by the National Rural Health Mission (NRLM), Ramban. As per press release issued by the District Nodal Officer, NRLM Ramban, these initiatives are being carried in convergence with the Line Departments so that new avenues of revenue generation are in place and SHGs are optimally linked with departments for utmost benefits under different departmental schemes and in future course of time, these groups can be linked with Prime Minister’s Formalization of Micro Enterprises (PMFME). As many as 31 SHGs were administered training under the supervision of AEO Sangaldan, within the time period of 27 days in situ germination having conducive growing conditions, the oyster mushrooms started sprouting out from the substrates of moisture paddy straw and maize stalks at a temperature ranging from 20° C to 30° C. It was informed that after their full cycle of germination, at least 5-6 kg of Mushroom will be the net output from 1 bag of spawns substrate. Pertinent to mention here that in search of alternative sources of income generation within the realms of passionate and energetic SHG women populace of Ramban, extensive training and due agriculture workshops conducted by NRLM in collaboration with Agriculture Extension Officer particularly in Sangaldan area as pilot project mushroom cultivation were taken on board. |
