One day awareness camp on drug abuse held 4/6/2021 11:08:55 PM Early Times Report Kalakote, Apr 6: The Anti-Drugs and Rehabilitation cell of GDC Kalakote in collaboration to the NSS Unit organized a one-day awareness camp in the college premises on the theme, “Drug Abuse in commemoration of “Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav”, keeping in view the various SoPs pertaining to Covid 19, wherein the college students were sensitized about the growing menace of the Drug Abuse in our society. Speaking on the event Marve Batool Sofi (Convener Anti-drugs and Rehabilitation cell) talked at length about the concept of Drug Abuse : it’s causes , effects and prevention. She briefed the students that how this menace is hollowing out our society like a termite and how important it is to curb this menace on time so as to prevent it from further affecting our youth in particular and our Nation in general. Adding to this thought, Shezad Ahmed (NSS co-ordinator) briefed the students about the various types of drugs and how it can affect the physical and mental health of an individual and how dangerous it can prove for a society leading it towards the phase of chaos and disruption. He further talked about the various studies that have been conducted from time to time which shows how this menace is gaining it’s pace day by day. Moreover, an interactive session was also conducted wherein some students including, Baljeet Singh , Mohd Muzafar and Noor jahan of B.A semester 5th gave their perception about drug abuse and also put forward certain queries which were vehemently answered. Speaking on the event, Principal GDC Kalakote, Romesh Kumar Gupta, addressed the students and briefed them that how drug abuse has became a trend in today’s World .He further added that today’s generation has became obsessed with following whatever is new or trending in the world and such is the situation in case of drugs as well.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
