‘Vaccination to control, aware on COVID-19’ prog held | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 6: Under the initiative of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, NSS Unit of GDC Sidhra under the guidance of Principal, Monika Sharma organized extension lectures on the theme “Vaccination to control COVID-19 and General Awareness about COVID-19”. The resource persons for the lectures were Farhat–Un-Nisa, Medical Officer, Health Centre Bain Bajalta and Himani Bhutyal, Medical Officer, Ayurvedic Dispensary, Bain Bajalta, Jammu. The proramme was inaugurated with the welcome address by Nalini Pathania, Nodal Officer, Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav. Farhat enlightened the students about the appropriate COVID behavior and motivated them to be the community volunteers to spread awareness amongst the society related to prevention of COVID-19. She focused her talk on the 5 T’s to fight COVID-19: Testing, Tracing, Treatment, Team work, Tracking and Monitoring. She also stressed upon the vaccination for the prevention of COVID. Himani Bhutyal stressed on the true potential of Ayurveda against COVID-19. She talked about how this pandemic has turned the world’s attention towards strengthening the immunity to fight against disease causing viruses and bacteria. She advised the students to adopt healthy lifestyle, practice Yoga and Pranayam regularly, inculcate healthy food habits and include various immunity boosting herbs in their diet. The programme was organized by Mehmood Ahmed, Programme Officer, NSS Unit, GDC Sidhra and co-ordinated by Deepa Kak and Satbir Kour, members of NSS, GDC Sidhra. The NSS volunteers of the college participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. The programme culminated with a formal vote of thanks by Mehmood Ahmed. |
