Jammu, Apr 6: Govt. Degree College Darhal started the celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav by organizing a lecture session on “Educational Progress of India Post Independence” in which Nazakat Hussain HOD History from PG College Rajouri was the invited speaker. In his highly informative talk Nazakat presented a comparative study of Pre-Independence and Post-Independence Eduction in India. He talked about the role of leading technological institutions such as IITs and NITs in making India self-reliant. Earlier Principal of the College Sumanesh Jasrotia threw light on the India’s struggle for independence. He talked about First war of Independence, Jalianwala Bagh massacre, Dandi March, Civil disobedience movement and Quit India Movement. He also talked about the role of Bapu Gandhi, Pandit Nehru, Sardar Patel, Subhash Chander Bose, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Malualna Abul Kalam Azad, Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan and other freedom fighters who made this country free from British Empire. He said that the program was a part of the series of programmes to be organized for celebrating Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav. Speaking on the occasion Ather aziz Raina gave a detail of the various Post independence developmental aspects which made the country progress. He particularly talked about the digitalization and telecommunication which made the country to grow at a fast pace. Finally an impressive vote of thanks was presented by Ahsan Ul rehman Rizvi. He particularly mentioned about the college NSS Unit in making the programme a grand success. The whole event was organized under the guidance of NSS Programme Officer of the college Ather Aziz Raina. Others present on the occasion were Imtiaz Hussain Shah, Riaz, Asif, Ishfaq, Ghulam Nabi, Fayaz, Zehra, Qayoom, Intikhab, Avaiz, and Saddam. |
